I thought it was about time to post up some rates for artwork, since I've been asked a few times for these. The costs below should be used as a guide, since most projects will be different, depending on budgets and scale of work, and costs are negotiable. The prices are subject to change.

Prices per 1 character (digital copies) -
Pencil Sketches: £20 or $35
B&W Lineart: £25 or $40
Coloured Lineart: £35 or $56
starfox999.deviantart.com/art/…
starfox999.deviantart.com/art/…
Fully Painted: £75 or $120
fav.me/d2fusm0
starfox999.deviantart.com/art/…

Add an extra 50% per extra character.

Hope that all helps!

Alan

It's been a while since I posted on dA, I've been busy all round, between day work and night work. In a bid to get some experience creating some professional game art, I have joined the team at Conflicting Kingdoms to help work on illustrations for their upcoming card game. So far there are still a few hundred briefs still to do, but there are around 30-40 artists on the team, so hopefully they will all be finished soon and the game can go on sale. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished version of the game and playing it. In the meantime, I have so far completely finished 21 illustrations for the cards, mostly cards associated with a race called the Konk, some of which will be included in a themed deck featuring just my artwork exclusively. The Konks are a secretive race of monkey-like people who live in the trees of the forest, with ninja-style abilities who hire themselves out as mercenaries to the highest bidder. To keep some kind of consistency in style, the cards are to be produced as coloured lineart. The Conflicting Kingdoms site is still being worked on, but you can join their Facebook group to keep posted on the progress of the game. You can check out the sets of cards I've already completed over in my gallery.

I've also had my iMac die on me in the middle of all this, luckily I've been able to resurrect my old G4 Mac which has been holding out up to now. It’s slow, but it’s better than nothing, and the Conflict cards aren’t overly big images, so far so good. I have five more cards to finish for the themed deck, which I should have finished by the end of the week hopefully.

The game is being launched with the Starter Decks at the beginning of June at the UK Games Expo in Birmingham, and I’m hoping to pop over there for a couple of days. I’ve never been to a convention before so I’m quite looking forward to that, if I can make it. If you want to follow the games progress or want to become a beta tester, check out the Conflicting Kingdoms page on Facebook. alturl.com/6kp3t

And on a side note, I'm putting in a plug for my new blog, I Luv Voxels iluvvoxels.wordpress.com/. It's a sister site to my 2d art blog, I Luv Pixels starfox99.wordpress.com/ and it's where I'm going to be posting all my work I'll be doing in Blender in the future, go check it out if you're interested.

So today's been quite exciting. :icondrop-asd: drop-asd suggested my Shimnavore pic for a Daily Deviation today which was duly picked. So I've spent the day watching the fav's and pageviews just piling up. At the minute, views on the image are up to over 13,000 and the favs are up to 870!!! Unbelievable, it also brought a lot of traffic (nearly 300 hits, an alltime record) over to my wordpress blog today.
So this is a entry to say a big, BIG thanks to :icondrop-asd: drop-asd for the DD. And while I've got your attention I'm going to plug her group :icondigiversity: Digiversity, a digital art group concentrating on events, challenges and collaboration rather than art collection. If you like contests, features, cooperative work and would like to actively take part in the digital art community, you are welcome on board! It's a great group if you want to get more involved with other artists or writers on dA.
So once again, thanks for the DD!

In a bid to get a few more victims recruited into Fightclub the organisers have decided to have an open night. Everyone can bring their friends and hopefully if they like what they see it'll increase turnout for the fights. There's a good attendance on the night, the drinks are flowing and, as is the nature of Fightclub, tensions are high and a few punches are thrown, but all in the usual spirit of competitiveness.

During the evening, while everyone is merry, a low rumble is heard. It seems to be coming from outside. Everyone rushes out to the gardens to see what's happening, it seems to be coming from the night sky. The stormy clouds are glowing and as they watch the sky, they realise the light is emanating from something moving through the clouds. As the rumble gets louder and the object clears the cloud bank, they are all shocked to realise that it is a massive spaceship. The noise becomes deafening, and the Fightclubbers stand there mesmerised. Suddenly they hear a high pitched whine, and a ball of bright energy starts to form from an extrusion at the bottom of the giant ship. The Fightclubbers start to scatter, thinking it might be some kind of weapon. But before they can move the ball of energy discharges and they are engulfed in a green, shimmering electricity and they black out.

They awaken to find themselves in a massive steel room. It appears to be some kind of cell, since there are bars covering one of the walls. On another wall is a giant screen and as the last of the fighters regain consciousness, the screen flickers to life. An alien appears and starts to talk:

"Hi there, I'm Gaz Grimlixx. We have been watching your 'Fightclub' for some time and have selected you for our Fightbowl Tournament. You will compete against each other in the arena, watched by millions across the galaxy. The winner will become the face of Splazz cola, the galaxy's most popular cola, our main sponsors for the Tournament. The losers... well, let's face it, the losers won't be around to do very much, other than decorating the morgue. Don't worry about the rules, there aren't any, other than you having to score more goals than the other team, and spilling as much blood in the process as you can. Our spectators are VERY bloodthirsty. Good luck!"

An alien guard comes in and leaves a crate in the middle of the room. "Before we start, we need you to elect a captain of your team, and if they could give us a soundbite about how they're going to destroy the other teams, to the camera, and  holding a can of Splazz, just to please our sponsors!"

Hurray! I'm the new proud owner of a six month subscription thanks to Laxon :iconlaxon: over at Lightwyrm.com www.lightwyrm.com. My pic 'Experiment Gone Wrong' got second place over on the latest Lightwyrm competition, so second place prize was a six month sub to DA, the latest Art Squared book, and access to the Warm Gun game beta. I think my hits have already gone up with the sub, and I have a few more buttons to push including the skin on the journal. I've been wanting to try out a sub for a while just for the sake of trying it, so thanks again to Lightwyrm for giving me the chance.

Everyone should go over and check Lightwyrm out, it's a friendly and fast growing community purely about digital painting, with some great tutorials and walkthroughs there too. Really, go check it out now. It'll be worth your while. www.lightwyrm.com
